I am so happy for spring, how about you?
Please see my update for Spring 2013.
What does it mean to you to have the Holy Spirit in your life?
We know that on the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came upon the believers in the upper room in a very powerful way. It caused them to share the Good News in all sorts of languages. Many people heard them speaking, many people understood their words, and many people came to believe. That day, those people were baptized, they started their faith journey, and they too received the Holy Spirit.
When you confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior your sins were forgiven. This is a true statement but that is not the only thing that happened at that moment. You also received the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God came upon you in a powerful way, to live in you, and to give witness to your spirit that you are a child of God. The Holy Spirit is there to lead you, instruct you, and help you. When you don’t know how to pray the Holy Spirit is there to pray on your behalf.
If you know Jesus as your Savior then you have the Holy Spirit. These two things can not be separated. The question for us is do we listen? God is talking to us through his Spirit which is in us. Are you listening to God? Are you following his leading? Are you growing into the son or daughter that he has created and called you to be?
I ask you again, what does it mean to you to have the Holy Spirit in your life? As we approach this Pentecost Celebration this Sunday let us think about these things.
Along the Journey,
Pastor Jude
